Local game, 7 players. Got dealt 7 3, nothing really to play with. I stay in for the flop, another 7 comes out, along with K, Q. The straight is on too, and the two people left in the game are betting big. I fold, because i just know the straight would kill any chance of a 3-of-a-kind. The betting keeps going. The turn shows a 10, making the straight even more likely. The river turn over another 7, and my head is in my hands! The others are now all in and turn over there cards, K high straight, vs A high straight. Huge relief for me. Wait a minute, i said - that's not a K high straight?! There's no J. And also, neither is the A high straight! Turns out they'd both mis-called and the winning hand was pair 7s, with an A kicker. I went out on the next hand! Weeping...
